Today’s smoothie may be the best smoothie yet made with my new super blender. Despite it sounding like a jet blasting off, this machine marvels in pureeing and liquifying even the crunchiest and most fibrous fruits and vegetables. Every day since purchasing my new kitchen appliance in mid June, I have tried a different assortment of produce. Today was relatively simple. Pineapple, mango, collard greens, water and half a frozen banana. It was smooth and satisfying and the most beautiful shade of green, reminiscent of a fresh pea soup that I like to make.
Oxygen and heat can both destroy nutrients in produce. However, I am hoping that the quick processing followed by immediate drinking doesn’t allow enough time for too much to be lost.
